History

Breco continues the 16th century history of textile manufacture in Bielsko Biala. The first cloth guild was created there in 1548.

Breco started production in 1898 (the company' s name was Deutsch Bernhard and Son). The offer included bonded cloth, wadding and sewing cotton.

In 1945 the company was taken over by the state – who created the Wool Industry Department. In that time the company produced mainly torn wool cotton for textile manufacture, retrieving wool from recyclable materials.

In 1993 the company's name was changed into ZPW Relana and the range of the offered products was improved by adding stitched nonwovens and looped rugs. In the middle of 1997 in result of the merger of ZPW Relana and ZPW Bewetex – the State Owned Company BRECO was established. On 3 March 2004 it was transformed into a limited liability company.
